Prof. Dr. Fatma Tülin Kayhan graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Ege University
in 1990. She completed her specialization training in the Department of Ear, Nose
and Throat at Bezmialem Vakıf Gureba Hospital in 1994. She worked as a specialist
doctor at Bakırköy State Hospital and Bezmialem Vakıf Gureba Hospital, and as a
senior assistant at Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Education and Research Hospital.
She became an Associate Professor in 2004 and a Professor in 2010. From 2005 to
2008, she served as the Deputy Director of Provincial Health. From 2005 to 2017, she
worked as the Head of the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi
Konuk Training and Research Hospital, as well as the Education and Administrative
Responsible.
In 1996, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
(MEEI) at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. She conducted scientific research
in the fields of Otology (Ear Diseases), Rhinology (Nose and Sinus Diseases) and
Pediatric Otolaryngology (Child Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases)
Following this, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Temporal Bone Laboratory of
the University of Minnesota, focusing on the histopathology of the human ear.
In 2008, she received training in Da Vinci Transoral Robotic Surgery at the IRCAD
Robotic Surgery Training Center in Strasbourg, France. She currently provides
Transoral Robotic Surgery training to domestic and foreign Ear, Nose, and Throat
(ENT) specialists in Turkey. With over 500 successful cases, she is one of the
world's most experienced expert robotic surgeons.
Prof. Dr. Fatma Tülin Kayhan continues her academic work by serving as editor and
author of numerous books and scientific journals in English and Turkish. She is the
editor and author of the Turkish book "Olgularla Kulak Burun Boğaz Hastalıkları" and
the author of the chapter "Robot-Assisted Surgery Around the Nose" in the English
book "All Around the Nose: Basic Science, Diseases and Surgical Management,"
published by Elsevier and prepared by international authors. Additionally, she wrote
the "Robot-Assisted Surgery" sections of the books "KBB ve BCC Uzmanlık Eğitimi
Kaynak Kitabı" and "Uyku Apnesi Tanı ve Tedavisi," as well as the sections
"Multidisipliner Prensiplerle Oral Diagnoz" and "Obstrüktif Uyku Apne Sendromu ve
Güncel Tedavi Yaklaşımları."
She is the founder and editor of the "Praxis of Otorhinolaryngology" journal on
behalf of the Istanbul ENT Specialists Association.
In 2012, she served as the Issue Editor for Volume 25, Issue 4 of the "Clinical
Development" journal on "Ear Nose and Throat Diseases.
Prof. Kayhan has 81 current international (in English) and 63 national (in Turkish)
scientific articles. She has been a keynote speaker at numerous international and
national congresses and continues to share her knowledge and experience with
colleagues at scientific meetings."
